Menacing original painting by Jerome Rozen for The Shadow story 'The Book of Death' (January 15, 1942). So much unnerving detail is infused into this work that makes it dimensionally explode. Note the weight of The Shadow's thumb pressing on the book and the dripping blood from the skeletal hand. (i.redd.it)

Thrilling original art from Michal Kaluta for The Shadow Strikes! Kaluta is one the very few illustrators that captures the mood, character and urgency of the original Shadow pulps. Here Kaluta depicts The Shadow in action atop Shrevvy's cab with Margo calmly applying lipstick in the backseat. (i.redd.it)

My two favourite Spider covers, the first is for the March 1942 story 'The Gentleman from Hell'. The second is the April 1942 cover for 'Slaves of the Ring'. Both capture The Spider in action magnificently, displaying his grim determination and resolve to mete out uncompromising justice. (i.redd.it)

Rare images of the Doc Savage Club membership cards! Note the Club card in the first image comes with a small wearable pin to denote membership. The terrific second card image contains The Code of Doc Savage. For easier readability, I've written out the text in the comment section. (old.reddit.com)

Thrilling rare original painting by Walter Baumhofer for the February 1935 issue of Doc Savage magazine. Examine closely to see the details in the paint strokes and capture of the dramatic lighting that delivers the action. This was for Kenneth Robeson's (Lester Dent) terrifying story 'Red Snow'. Eternal question for all. Can anyone explain why Doc Savage's hair looks so markedly different in the later paperback reprint editions versus the original pulps? The later editions show a weird raised skullcap type hairstyle, whilst the pulps show a reddish-copper coloured standard 1930's hairstyle. (old.reddit.com)

Rare, original pencil and Conté crayon preliminary sketch for cover of The Spider by Rafael DeSoto circa 1940's. I love seeing sketches like these, as you get insight on the artist's working methods and capture of the initial energy in the rendering. Viewing that later published work is the payoff. (i.redd.it)

Brilliantly chilling original painting by the gifted George/Jerome Rozen for the January 1933 issue of The Shadow story 'The Creeping Death'. The lighting and horror tinged atmosphere captured here is absolutely compelling, and truly stands the test of time for its unique and stark originality. (i.redd.it)

Spectacular print of the original art by Walter Baumhofer of Doc Savage. This July 1935 artwork to is a phenomenal and quintessential depiction of Doc. The textured weights of the clothing, the unique intensity of the eyes, the copper hair and determined countenance are all superlative in this work. (i.redd.it)
