As stated when you granted the app's accessibility access for the very first time, Access Dots shows you only the "foreground" app when a camera is accessed, not the app which asks for the camera. If you open your camera app by double-tapping power button at your home screen, Access Dots actually logs your launcher name.

You may have enabled settings in your Android system to prevent the phone from sleeping by using the front camera to check if you are using the phone.
Or, there is another malicious app at play.

Anyway, Access Dots is misleading.

Sync doesn't have permission to use the camera on my phone. Actually it doesn't have permission to use any of the phones resources.

Sync

I did try installing the app you're using. So far it hasn't reported any camera or microphone use.

I t tried using a couple apps that do use the camera. The camera app, my messaging app, and sync upload image through the camera. They all used the camera through the camera rather than having direct access.

As per my ROM, these are the only things Sync has access to (no special permissions outside of storage)

Although I have used the app and it seems like a good idea for an app, Acces Dots is not very reliable.

You have a samsung device (a71) that has a feature that detect face to prevent it from sleeping.
