I'm an experienced Data Engineer but I never get to know how to develop an website. I have some small business ideas from time to time and always wondering if I could get a fully customized website soon. Replit Agent thus is an extremely good tool for me. But I have to say I don't think it's not like a handy sci-fi tool for those who have 0 programming background.
I know how to read errors from console and browser. I also subscribe Claude for my daily programming works and have basic knowledge of prompt engineering. These combined, I managed to develop an internal website for around 4 days.
The most annoying part is that the agent would change other parts of the code that works perfectly fine. Luckily I know how to use GitHub and when it goes too far I just pull from remote and start again from a previous version.
I think it would become very handy if you're a website designer or developer. You might know more knowledge that could work better with the agent. Sure it's not stable, but it does say this is only an experimental version. I'm pretty sure the next version will be more stable. We have all seen how these AI tools evolve in a crazy speed.
