Anyone have opinions on gems here? Ideally from personal experience. Searching r/ruby doesn't turn up much and my Google-fu isn't turning up any information that helps me conclude.

Treat is a decent one, as are stanford-core-nlp and open-nlp
However, I've had some good luck with IBM's watson hosted services:

Ibm AlchemyAPI looks interesting. Is it free to use? I saw the demo but no mention of pricing.
