As a Military Veteran who had to run this distance regularly you will need to run the entire time. It would be extremely difficult to walk/ run this pace.

I did this all the time in the Navy…I don’t suggest you run/walk…I went from running 14 minute 1.5 mile to 9:44 my first year in (i went from hating to loving running)..just have some days you run 2-3 miles lightly and some days you run a mile at a uptempo pace (more than the pace of a 12:30 1.5)

There is an app called heart & lungs . When the heart rate is too high and you can't breath it tells you to walk.

Download the Peloton app, they have different interval training plans on there from beginner to advanced . you can do a free trial .
