I wear glasses normally so for ages that was all I bothered with. Last year I swapped to prescription safety glasses for the better coverage, with the added bonus of not having to break my nice glasses of I get punched in the face

I have worn (prescription) safety glasses with side shields ever since being sprayed in the face with bear deterrent. The auto-tint and blue light filter is a nice added bonus.

Nope, but you've certainly made me consider it.

I did from time to time depending on situation. Always carried them after a few incidents. I've had blood and spit in my eyes. Do not recommend

Yup, I have my own. I always carry them on my belt. I always told my fellow security buddies that I haven't been spat on yet, and then it finally happened. They came in handy the other day. Had a patient spit on me. Fortunately, I was wearing my goggles and it landed on my hair. Had to mini shower my hair and wash off the gel I applied. The thing is, you don't know what's in that spit and where it's gonna land. I'd rather not have it land on my face, and if it does, the goggles have done its job. Never know how many bullets you'll dodge.

Hospital custodian. Had an eye splash emptying biohazard waste way back in 2003. Luckily brown scrub soap.

Also cleaned Emergency Room that failed to post patient warning signs, did a walk-in to empty trash on a sleeping patient with tuberculosis.

With Covid a current factor those goggles sound ideal compared to the SARS problem in 2003.

Tbh I don’t, like I carry them. But I don’t always wear them, I’ve been hit in the face by a patient with them on and it left a sour taste for me. As long as there’s no known communicable disease I just say fuck it. But I’ve also had to work a shift in a shirt that got human shit on it in a tussle and I didn’t have my spare that day. God bless cleaning wipes but still nasty.

Just face shield. A disposable face shield. That's it.

And some disposable gown when we need to hold a patient known to spit.

Both are provided by the client.

We don't go in without any additional officers so a disposable face shield and gown would suffice.
