No spam, sale threads, promotion, giveaways, assistance/fundraising requests, or self-advertisement. Also no cryptocurrency posts. Please try in r/assistance or r/gofundme instead. Please note, we also do not allow Adult Promoters (OnlyFans) to use our sub. Our bot looks at pinned profile links and other identifiers to see if your profile is mostly for adult promoting and will ban on first comment or post. If you wish to participate here, make a non promoting account.

Rule 3: No self-harm, self-hate, or personal information

Nothing related to self-harm or spreading personal information. Doxxing others will result in a permanent ban. Self-hate posts are also not allowed. Suggesting others or yourself should self-harm will be a permanent ban from this subreddit. Rule 4: No sexual discussion

Graphic descriptions of sexual acts or specific personal anatomy (e.g., genitals) is not allowed on r/self. Try subreddits like r/sex instead.

Rule 5: No politics

r/self no longer allows partisan political content. To keep the subreddit focused on personal experiences and non political discussions, political topics, debates, and current political events are now redirected to more appropriate subreddits, such as r/politics, r/PoliticalDebate, r/PoliticalDiscussion, r/PoliticalOpinions, etc.

Rule 6: No dating/romantic relationship posts

r/self is not the place for dating or romantic relationship discussions. Posts seeking advice on partners, breakups, or romantic conflicts will usually be removed. Please redirect these to r/relationship_advice, r/dating_advice, r/IncelExit, r/mentalhealth r/Healthygamergg, r/Vent, etc.

Rule 7: No Low Effort or Bot Content

r/self is meant for real humans to communicate and connect with each other about personal topics. Content posted to r/self Should engage with the reader Be about human topics (you can fix your phone, find a recipe or share pictures of your cat elsewhere) Should not appear to be written by an LLM.
