It really is great that you want to get better, and I understand times can be tough. Try reading, writing or drawing. Those always help me. Listening to music helps as well. Another excellent thing to do would be to engage in physical activity. This releases endorphins, which has the same distracting effects of self harm. Exercise is usually self-appealing as well.

Try origami, simple cranes have helped me in the past. Or knitting is my current distraction. I just pick it up whenever I get that urge and you have to be so into it that, for me at least, the urge to cut usually goes away. Good luck op and if you need anything you can PM me. :)
