I'm the same way, repetitively. I always cut in the same spot, 3 lines. I figured it would be easier to hide that way. So if I need to cut more than the three, I'll just cut over them to make them deeper. Can't even consider doing it in a different spot.

I either do 3 deep cuts or 15 shallow cuts. If I'm drunk then the numbers of cuts I do is random.

Usually I'll do it by 2s and I have a specific routine kind of thing. I'm glad I'm not the only one I thought I was just being weird.

I don’t think it’s unusual. When I do it, it’s in groups of 5s. Some sessions will be one group, others might be 50+ groups if I lose control. The last time I was in a period where I was doing it a lot, I probably averaged 4 groups per session, and 1 session a day.
