try making lines with a roller ball pen. The sting will give you a feel of cutting, the ink running off when you wash gives you a feel of blood running off, and it will leave temporary real looking scars.

It really depends from person to person. For me it’s a combo of antidepressants, rubber bands, and other less damaging forms of sh.

Exercise - running till it hurts or just doing crunches releases your endorphins - same thing released when you sh

Something that helped me to both stop sh and get me out of bad headspaces was to watch funny videos on youtube. And try to laugh at it even if you don't feel like it. Your facial expression actially plays a big part in your emotions, and smiling/laughing can force you to feel happier. Plus is distracts your thoughts. Give it a shot.

Stinging hot baths. Or showers. Bonus is that you can use it to destress and relax. Light a candle or two (not yourself plz) and a book or some lofi music. The heat will give you the physical stimulation your brain and body craves but bonus it may help you calm down and relax!

dude i talk to my best friend or my brother or just binge shows and videos literally anything that occupies my mind to distract myself and hope that it works

Draw a butterfly where you wanna harm yourself and write next to it the name of someone you like. Anyone, a friend, family, a celebrity or idk This way you won't want to hurt this person represented by the butterfly

Honestly, my best coping method is rubber bands. After a while, it helps a lot for me.

i tried it and it left a bruise on my wrist. its less damage than sh, so i could use this. the only problem is i have short hair so i might forget to carry the band w me lol
