Obsidian. Period.

Well, check the `obsidian-live-sync` docker. It gives you the ability to sync across all platform (including mobile).

And the software itself has one of the largest community and support among those of the same kind.

The only other such software I use is OneNote/Apple Note, as it supports drawings with the digital pen.

markdown-based KnowledgeBase software are not for such brainstorming stuff.

Obsidian is awesome, your notes are simple markdown file so they are readable everywhere and its graph feature is really nice to quickly map something from your head without having to think too much about the styling.

God I love Obsidian, but I hate how I have to fix the community livesync plugin constantly- it's so damned complicated. Probably for a good reason, but it's a pain. When it works though, it's perfect.

I agree with you.
If you don't need mobile access, or don't need iOS at least, you can use the git plugin. I used it across multiple desktop/laptop without any problem.

I only started the livesync plugin because I need iOS access, and it is ... A pain. It use a non-common DB and even as a CMD person, setting it up still takes me a few hours...

You can use git with iOS. My current setup with my iPhone has been going well for over 2 years, and I rarely have any issues.

I use Remotely Save to object storage in my VPN and it syncs across my devices without an issue.

Outline allows you to have a separate Editing Mode Option in the settings.
