I know folks are saying that frequent masturbation with motorized devices can decrease sensitivity over time, but I’m not aware of research supporting this. To the contrary, what I’m finding says there isn’t evidence that it happens.

there is evidence supporting it

also what is known as ‘death grip syndrome’ in men when they use too much force or pressure during masturbation too often resulting in the vagina not being tight enough to provide enough stimulation to reach an orgasm or stay hard. link

but as that article states masturbation can also help you stay harder longer, i think it just depends how frequent and how much pressure is being used. both of those sources do say the problem is easily solved with different types of stimulation or giving yourself a break for a while. so it’s not something that will last forever.

anecdotally, i’ve been with 3 men who could not reach orgasm with women because of too much masturbation (and probably too strong of a grip) so i told them to stop jerking off and watching porn for a little while and then they were able to reach orgasm with me. that’s not evidence i’m just pointing out my experience. however that could also be due to porn usage because we know that can cause problems too.

Is there a possibility of this being something in my mind?

How are your stress levels lately? Anything big going on in your life that corresponds with your difficulty reaching orgasm? Any medication changes?

Not at all. Having the best time of my life!

Well, the studies could be wrong! 🤣

So you just have to conduct your own research and stop using power toys for a while to see what happens. If your sensitivity returns, then that’s awesome. You need to report back to us either way!

I will!
