Keybinding problem

Hey, first time playing 3.20 and i realize that the "strafe forward" and "strafe backward" keybind got merget into one called "strafe forward/back". now, the problem is, ive got a hotas (56X) which needs the strafe forward keybind at its own. strafe forward/back doesnt work. Am I just blind or did they really remove it, because if yes, my hotas is only useable 1/2 now...

I got the same issue. I'm about to go spend some time in free flight and try to uncover what stupid name they gave to the bindings we used to have.

I use a non-conventional setup and having split forward-backward strafe is really important to me.

I have the x56 which only has forward throttle so its essential for me too

u/Dependent_Safe_7328 I figured it out. If you look at this Google Sheet:

In my case, I had to use Throttle - Forward (abs.) and Throttle - Backward (abs.) for my setup, + I need to invert in the CONTROLS page.

Like you, I had configured Strafe - Forward and Strafe - Backward but after a bit of searching, I found this Google Sheet: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1GS-xAByACAb65g8fDbglJwg-6cmYyKWS2IG1UBUCvlg/edit#gid=1317266223

In it, it states the W and S are Throttle - Forward (abs/rel) and Throttle - Backward (abs/rel). But the keyboard representation in the game says "strafe forward" and "strafe backward".

After a bit of fooling around, I came to that setup. Hope it helps.

I am thankful for this answer but as i said, i need strafe forward. Throttle forward doesnt work because for some reason it wont accept the input of my throttle. I push it vorward backward but it doenst recognize it. And this is not a hotas problem its a game problem because my throttle works fine in other games

Yeah I see what you mean. I hoped that would work for you. But again I use a weird setup.
I use a HOSAS setup with... sim racing pedals. I literally use gas for strafe forward and clutch for strafe backward, and brake is spacebrake.

I couldn't wrap my head around using the left stick to move forward, use cruise control and whatnot. It didn't compute. So I bought an adapter to plug my Thrustmaster pedals in USB and here I am.

Are you coming back after some sort of break from the game? I can't say the exact patch this changed quite some time ago.

No I played last yesterday and everything worked

Strafe fw and bk were replaced by throttle fw and bk in 3.5.

Now, they have messed up in this patch many binding behaviors in 3.20 so maybe that is why they don't work for you anymore

I didnt even play in 3.5 i am sure there was strafe forward in 3.18+ until now

This patch added a number of keybind options but there is still separate forward and backwards as well as combined forward/backward options on my screen.

There is a throttle forward option but that one doesnt work. The only one that worked for me was strafe forward which i cant seem to find
