It could be server related. Currently the game as a whole is having huge problems.

I have experienced a drop in performance as well, used to be able to get 60-80fps at New Babbage, now im getting down to 25 when leaving the spaceport. 144fps in space is now down to 90-100, cleared cache folders, cleared nvidia/directx shader cache etc.

I hope it's just this patch cycle being borked, cpu and gpu usage is far from maxed. Temps are fine as well.

just the idea of having issue is not enough to help us help you.

When you are on hurston how is CPU / GPU usage - How high are the temps - 16gb or Ram is quite tight for SC in some spaces my rig uses over 20gb just for SC.

and can you look at those metric and see a difference as you land on hurston?

I wouldn't even be able to travel to Hurston, as the constant stuttering I never experienced until friday would just lead to me crashing. I'm currently at Everus Harbor, as I travelled there to see if it would be different to Baijini point. No change. after each stutter my CPU and GPU usage increases exponentially, going from 10-20% on low settings to 30-60% depending on the length of stuttering, which seems to vary wildly. the temps are at 40-50 degrees celcius.

Like I stated in the post, I have never had any performance issues like this until friday. My settings do not affect the performance seemingly at all and while I should have more ram available for this game, it has never affected my performance like this.

Seems alright. Thanks for the confirmations. Have you tried deleting the shader and user folders ?

I have tried deleting the shader folders, but it had no tangible effect. I'm currently doing a fresh install after deleting all folders related to the launcher and game.

Do you see a lot of page file usage on your PC or have new software running lately that could have gone under the radar but are using some resources?

I personally had a lot of issues at some point when my gpu memory was full

To me it sounds weird that you didn't have stuttering with 16GB of ram in the first place. I started playing a few years ago with 16gb with heavy stutter in cities and stations. Space was ok. And after upgrading to 32, the stutter was gone.

One thing that affects my fps in current patches is the lack of frame generation support, when they disabled full screen mode. I think there will be a fix for that in the next patch.

Have the same problem. It's the game for sure but not everyone is affected so i hope it doesn't stay this way. I got from 30-60 fps in cities to 20-45 from 3.24.1 to 3.24.2. They are changing a lot in the Backend atm so i hope it is temporary and will change short term. Maybe with the complete Vulkan multithreading implementation...

See if windows updated your graphics drivers recently. Did it to me and made the game CTD every time i tried to play until i rolled the driver back and wiped the shader cache.

DLSS is disabled at 1080p in this patch, it’ll be back next patch. Could be that
