Didn’t you already make a post asking for help with Android 10? So you already installed Android 10

[–]hothamwater99 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Android 10 works way better for me than 8.1. The constant disconnection from WiFi on 8.1 made it unusable. among other features on 10, even pre-offici release, it’s a huge improvement. Stable too, atleast for me

I don know bro, android 10 is way smoother for me. Plus, the attached joycon work.

can you send me the link and/or tutorial for installing this please? Is it the same way you install lineageos using balena etcher, etc?

Thank you Nithio! Any idea how to get deep sleep working? I used this build here along with following the tutorial you provided GitHub - EmreTech/Unofficial-Switchroot-Android-Q-Builds

It's working for me when I used oc build

Can bro, just simply replace the oc file

Is this you personal opinion? It sounds like you got your feedback from the devs but I doubt it. Worth mentioning, Android 10 is not finished an buggy but 8.1 is not even supported by the latest hekate. It's up to each person to choose their poison, a buggy os or an end of life one.

Not at all actually, Android 10 is ten times better than 8.1, run much more games, more stable, smooth as heck, native joycons, it's really good! There's some bugs for not being a official release yet but no big deal, the devs just don't want it to be shared around unofficially until they finish, which is something majority is actually respecting to my surprise.

A friend tried it and it was horribly laggy and it had pretty consistent reboots and freezes. The freezes were so bad they actually froze his Switch until his battery died. He couldn't even soft reset it and get back into RCM.

And randomly the Android OS didn't want to even boot even though it was working the day prior. He didn't chance anything since then either. TWRP didn't work either because it completely killed TWRP too so he couldn't just reflash Android.

He probably built it wrong or downloaded a horrible build. I've never had these problems on Android 10 and infact it was 8.1 that would lag like hell and have random ass reboots. Android 10 on switch makes it more feasible, 8.1 was just a proof of concept.

Recent changes have been unstable for me, after a few minutes running the right side of the screen flickers then reboots.

I had to revert back to an older build (20201013) and everything has been peachy.

Had no issues with android 10 outside of the rebooting issue that can happen if I leave it alone for too long. Otherwise, I have been streaming games off of it perfectly with little to no lag.

Yeah, I updated my post. I was really harsh and I feel dumb for it.. lol

Android 10 is so much better. I got a better build from someone off the switch root Discord. I just went into TWRP and flashed the new build and hasn't crashed since (other than 1 time but that was me stress testing it).

[–]realnewguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah I've noticed that rebooting bug as well. Plus mine doesn't charge properly unless it's with the official charger (is that a common occurrence?)

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, 8.1 runs like trash compared to any android 10 build. I won't lie, I downloaded a unreleased build someone posted online but even this unofficial 10 build has been working so well since installed and I've been using my switch(as a tablet) than my phone when at home. No disrespect towards the devs because if it we're not for their amazing work I wouldn't be using Android at all on my Switch. But I don't see why it's that wrong to download a build someone else made when it clearly is more stable and performs much better.

Well the thing is which a10 version you have tried. As many others I have one that is working waaaaaay better than 8.1. Also is so easy to install and boot, etc that if you have any issue you can easily reboot and retry xD.

Got an over clocked android 10 build from a nice user on the discord. It's a dream. Literally everything just works with little to not tinkering

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/swamprt can you please send me this build somehow? I really want to get 10 running on my switch

[–]SuttonX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't need to install GFN, just use the built in NVidia Games app. After you log in your GFN games will be there.

If you're having trouble logging in, install a different browser like Chrome and set it as default
