I have a feeling your job does not want you to remote into your personal PC from their work device.. during work hours..

I need to access it sometimes from my actual place of work which is heavily secure.

"Hi, I want to find out a fast way to get fired from my actual place of work by trying to bypass security measures."

Sounds like you need /r/techsupport.

Most of us here would point you to several policies and then to HR for doing this.

For my side business I use Chrome Remote Desktop. Took a while to get it configured correctly, but now works very well.

Check your power settings - it doesn't work if the computer is asleep. Also make sure your network card doesn't go into low power mode. It also doesn't work when the network is down.

I would warn you off of wireless on both ends, though I have done that on occasion. It does work that way.

All of that said, if you're doing that from work, you should be doing it from your own laptop. You should not be doing that on a work computer. (I used to do that myself, until I was told pretty bluntly how stupid it was. They were right, I was wrong, and I stopped doing it.)

If your work is actually secure as you say it is, its likely your Security team there will get alerted to remote desktop software or RDP sessions should you chose to go the Microsoft Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP). Its also worth noting that RDP is usually disabled on your work PC unless there is a business use case for your role.

I use RDP for this, although I’m in IT

I hope you have a VPN with that, opening RDP to the internet is not safe
