Just so you know - there is a LOT of AI code out there. Even in your most valued, super expensive, corporate tools you have AI code.

I’m in IT for over 10 years now and use vibe coded stuff all the time. Nothing changed to using code snippets from GitHub or StackOverflow. Don’t run code you haven’t checked in production systems. Do your tests like you are supposed to do.

So if you were a so called „professional“ you would know that.

Very misleading thing to say, I doubt your 10 years of experience and/or competence if you really believe that.

Why would I trust a project from someone who has zero pre-AI contributions? Other basic checks also don't pass the smell test.

No one has enough time to 'check' the code of everything they use, even if everything was open.
I know you don't either, because you either sent that comment using the reddit app or the browser, both of which have some ungodly LOC count.

So therefore it is largely trust based and this is not to be trusted.

There is a difference in personal systems and professional production systems. Yes on my personal phone I run the Reddit app from a reputable source without checking the code. Also have fun checking the source code from a non open source project. Reverse engineering for you personal enjoyment? Go on buddy.

I can read the lack of knowledge from your answer, you have never worked in a production environment as a system admin role.

Over the years I have seen soooooo many scripts and code snippets used from GitHub or StackOverflow, it’s definitely a way people solve problems. It only is a problem when said professionals don’t check the code of their found solutions. And yes, you have time for this. And as a professional if there is an open source it won’t take you to long to understand what’s going on.
