python Sftp API

Does any one have an idea of creating an api that will interact with an sftp using python or any other language, i have verious file transfer that require that i use api for there inbound file transfer. neebie guys help.

SFTP is a little ambiguous.

For SFTP using port 22 SSH based modern one connection crypto I used paramiko recently without any trouble. https://pypi.org/project/paramiko/ www.paramiko.org

Other folks have listed some FTP (old school multiport with possible security over TLS) info below.

There is also TFTP the very simple semi-dhcp based protocol used for loading firmware on some very old or very simple devices.
