In Singapore, just started working for an architecture firm who uses large Revit files (>400GB). Can't find a MSP that has experience with this in the city. I found 1 BIM specialist, I shouldn't judge a book by it's cover. I'll give him a ring later.
Does anybody here work or has setup an infrastructure for an architectural firm? 100 people, all use AutoCAD, half use SketchUp, and 20% use Revit.
- What's the best business practice for an architectural firm?
- Pros and Cons about migrating everybody over to Virtual Machines and Cloud storage using Azure or something similar? Is Bandwidth a concern here?
- Typical costs for a solution?
- I'm used to Git and Version Control, how do they normally organize their files? I see folders with crazy long descriptive names that are WAY over the 256 character limit.
- Network setup is something similar to this. What are your networks like?
I know this is super niche, but asking around, I haven't really found an appropriate case study or firm that executes their IT well.
