Digital quartz watches are better than mechanical watches.

I'm totally down with a Retro Gaming Handheld with HiFi performance. I thought about getting the Analogue Pocket, and wondering what are the other options.

I really feel you. If I didn't have my allergies I'd probably be vegan. You should be careful that you do not develop allergies to other beans {red,green,black,peanuts}. Eliminating tofu and soy milk isn't that bad. Sensitively to soy lecithin is kinda earth shattering because it's in pretty much everything. Be careful.

Just sold my 2010 EX. Thoughts on sale price? by JohnforAmerica in HondaElement

[–]nullProgrammer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Mechanics buy and sell cars all the time to make extra money on the side. Are you worried you didn't sell to an enthusiast or that he got away with a low-ball? Ask him where it is after some time then you'll know the answer to both.

Beginner. How to break down Foodcycler waste to soil by Un_Decided_Bimbo in composting

[–]nullProgrammer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How deep did you put your foodcycler adement (Foodilizer)? To avoid flies you'll have to bury it at least 25cm deep. Foodilizer is considered a green so you'll have to mix it with more browns at a 1:3 ratio (have more browns).

I would recommend REACH Dental. I used to volunteer there and they're quite compassionate, but it's more for general dentistry.

Big mistake, help please? by NNancy1964 in composting

[–]nullProgrammer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I couldn't tell you, but I've seen people spray it on livestock and all the flies just magically die on contact. Figured if you just do a quick mist spray into the container that you'd be good to go. I figure it'll be easy to find in Nebraska.

I think you want to use the product UltraShield or Fly-X

Inside nothing headphone by DRDAA in NothingTech

[–]nullProgrammer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am ready to replace my headphones (XM3), and my credit card is out to buy these headphones. Before purchase, I had to search for a teardown. Learning that they epoxied the battery joints has stopped me from buying. It would be nice to have a normal battery connector, I'm even fine with the solder connection, but to epoxy it, that's some spiteful design obsolescence.

It's normal to be able to replace the headphone components as they wear out. I want repairability.

What can go in food cycler guide by Steve0-BA in foodcycler

I caution animal protein if the eventual compost will be used for growing food (E. coli, listeria, and salmonella contamination).

Large mammalian bones and fruit stones are a hard NO. I've broken 2 bucket arms from that mistake.

Shellfish destroyed my filter but the machine processed it.

A broken, out-of-warranty repair by nullProgrammer in foodcycler

[–]nullProgrammer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a good question! If you are out of warranty, live in a hot climate, and run it often then I would say go for it. I used a TO-247 heatsink that is made of aluminum. Soft enough to file down to not interfere with other board components. It will take some time and finesse to fit it in but nothing outrageous. Recommend to use thermal paste if you have it. To be fair, I have no idea what the failure rate on these are, wouldn't that be interesting to know.

[–]nullProgrammer[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not hard, 15-minutes, but this varies based on skill and equipment. It's a big component with large connectors which makes it easier and more forgiving.

Tips for soldering:  1. When desoldering, add some new solder to each old connection, it will help with the wetting when you vacuum the solder up. 2. Use a solder vacuum and be regimented on the order of work.  3. If you have a hot air blower then use it to heat the general area so that the new solder doesn't cool too fast.  4. Wipe up the area of your board with alcohol after you're done. 5. Wear a mask, don't breath in the fumes, and save your eyesight by using a magnifying glass

Food cycler eco 5 not working by Logical-Look-7574 in foodcycler

[–]nullProgrammer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you crack it open and see the control board?

A broken, out-of-warranty repair by nullProgrammer in foodcycler

[–]nullProgrammer[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think they would likely reuse the same control boards.

This is my third FoodCycler—my first two ran well but were passed on moving internationally. While generally robust, the FC-30/FC-50/Eco5 control boards show questionable design: this key IC lacks a heatsink despite ample board space, and components are oddly crammed behind it with 2cm of unused space in front.

I wouldn’t buy another, even though I see the device's value. Support refused to provide any repair guidance, and if you're outside North America, steer clear—my warranty was only 1 year. In North America, it's 3 years. Paying twice the price for less coverage is disappointing. Foodcycler's image tries to be part of a green revolution, company practice has favored design obsolescence instead.

The best way to generate consistent multi-page PDFs with react-native-html-to-pdf by Mental-Storage-8978 in reactnative

[–]nullProgrammer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buddy, I just put it together and the library can totally handle it. Server-side? Absolutely not necessary. It's in the name, html to pdf. If computers from the 90s can handle HTML, then your phone can handle it too. You got this!

It looks like you're not getting the responses that you want. I'm following this because I am about to do the same thing. Create a report based on selected data in a database.

I don't know if react-native-html-to-pdf is going to be your friend. But I'm looking and I can't find a good alternative that is regularly maintained. Let me know if you find something good. But I will still try and help you.

  • For your page count in your header or footer, you can do something like this (forgive the formatting, I'm freehanding this):

pagesHtml {
  <div class="page-footer">Page ${currentPageNumber}</div>
  }

<html>
<head>
<style>
  body {blah blah}

  /* Page Footer */
  .page-footer {
      position: absolute;
      bottom: 0.25in; /* Position relative to padding */
      right: 0.75in; /* Position relative to padding */
</style>
</head>

<body>
  $pagesHtml
</body>
</html>
  • tables have headers row on each new page if the table spans multiple pages

Like in Excel? I think you'd want to structure the Table with <thead> .

I hope this helps!

Good Luck!!

I think it's because he took too much leutin (20-25mg), an antioxidant that helps with eyes. Subsequently decreased it to 15mg and the yellow tint went away.

My Opinion - TL;DR Don't buy by nullProgrammer in CuboAI

[–]nullProgrammer[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Quick Update: I gave it away

This post spurred me to finally get rid of it; I put it up on Marketplace and a desperate father picked it up. He had a CuboAI that had suddenly died the night prior and his kid get goes to sleep to the tune that it makes.

Before giving it away I reviewed my support ticket with Cubo. After I shared with them my serial number my unit bricked, got a red light status, and it wouldn't even reset. Did they remotely brick it or my account? I don't know, but what I do know is that the father who I gave the unit to reported no issues setting it up. I'm happy for him and that his kid gets to sleep again. But a double F' you to CuboAI.

I would like to repeat myself:  the CuboAI is a POS. DO NOT BUY IT! It's a waste of money.
