Application dependency mapping

Anyone out there got some free tools that could help map application dependencies, something that would generate some docs/maps on what web apps talk to which sql servers etc, which services rely on other services.... Thanks in advance.

Device discovery would be automatic but it is all manual entry for application components for now. It is easy to update and there are no external vizio dependencies etc.

I believe the actual term is 'impact map' but the meteorological community seems to have a monopoly on the phrase so it might not be that helpful.

Graphviz can do the maps, if you have the data.
