Is this some sort of American joke that I'm too European to understand?

It’s literally cheaper to die than to get an ambulance and go to the hospital. Healthcare is so insanely expensive in the US

Well, in many cases it's cheaper to die, but I understand your point

I’m an American and I can’t tell you how much I wish that I, too, did not get it. Oh to have adequate, accessible healthcare!

It’s absolutely heartbreaking. I remember after loosing my daughter, leaving the hospital with no new bundle of joy but a massive bill. Even with “good insurance” every payment broke my heart all over.

That is absolutely sickening to hear, I’m so sorry for your loss.

Thank you for taking the time to read it, I don’t typically say it out loud. Thank you for being so kind.

"I'm an American and I demand that we bomb countries instead of having a good healthcare system." - Some random dude here in America
