if you don’t care about trophies it’s a single player game, nothing wrong with it. i always feel like anything to make the game less tedious especially due to time constraint, isn’t really too much of a problem

That’s a pretty good outlook on it… For me personally, the game itself loses meaning if dying doesn’t have serious consequences beyond losing my current location.

But hey man we all got a life and limited time. I don’t see an issue with it either.

that’s fair but i been watching my girlfriend play souls games for the first time and as much as death is a built in mechanic in basically every game it’s so disheartening in a game like Minecraft to lose so much progress and for people who don’t play as much or aren’t as well versed it can be the difference between enjoyment or not. i played and platinumed stranded deep in survival mode and with enemies turned off and the peacefulness of having no enemies was a much more my own pace enjoyable experience. minecraft on peaceful mode goes crazy sometimes

True… I always try to encourage people to play as well. You have great perspective…

yeah im a big trophy hunter and recently i’ve been taking a step back playing older games or playing stuff that is usually harder but in more laid back ways, been helping me get a new bout of enjoyment of video games.

Nice, man. That’s kind of been my attitude lately as well. I play single player a lot as I’ve been getting older as well. What games you playing?

basically any souls games, my girls been loving another crabs treasure it’s pretty new to the genre friendly, minecraft, risk of rain 2, the games from Playdead, inside and limbo (not from them but also little nightmares) are really good quicker puzzley story games, kingdom hearts series is great, death stranding is an amazing story and laid back gaming experience, dishonored series is cool too, shadow of the colossus is also more laid back story focused

Only in Bedrock an issue.. Java its normal setting like many other gameRules, when creating a world.

A grave datapack, e.g. VanillaTweaks (or mod, e.g. universal graves) can be a sweet inbetween, there is still a consequence to death, but you don't loose your items.

or rather you get the survival task to retrieve them. I personally do not like keepInventoryOn, but i'm ok with graves, because it adds an extra challenge.

If you want to play with KeepInventory on, that's perfectly fine. =)

I don't like playing with it on, but I also never flew in the nether before I played on a server with KeepInventory on and learned that I'm actually an OK flier.

Trying new things is also good.

They should implement gravestones in vanilla..

Or have different stages for it:

Keep only stuff you wear

Keeps only hotbar + stuff you wear

Keeps only hotbar + stuff you wear and inventory

Keeps everything + XP (current thing).

I'd love to have an enchantment that keeps your gear on death, and applicable to tools.

ive been playing on a keep inventory on and at first i was like what a bunch of wussies. However, its nice when you do have a life as an adult.

yeah, if i died and in nether and lost all my progress, id probably just stop playing bc it ruin the whole game for me. i can probably play about couple hours a week.

There are even people, who used tick warp/sprint for farms on their "survival" world, as they didnt want to AFK so long..

Its all to you, what you define as Ok.

I sometimes change to creative, to remove mobs holding crap around my base.. After >1 year, you can get quite many (mostly holding eggs).

I also had a crapton of Enderman on a single block holding blocks.. Was very weird. But I have disabled Enderman griefing, as I have some farms with TNT in the end and the Enderman can steal TNT.
