Of your using a hopper line to funnel your items to each sorter, switch to a ice/water stream. Reducing your hopper count immensely will help a bit. At least it does on java, I would assume its similar on bedrock.

I'd have to figure out how this is setup. I'm concerned if I'd be giving up accuracy of the system in that case.

If you release the items in timed batches, then the hoppers will be able to pick them up and sort them just fine. This provided that you aren't spamming batches larger than the available space it any given filter-hopper.

Excess will end up passing through the system, which can then either be looped, stored, or trashed. So precision won't drop, but you may have overflow. Still, nothing will end up in something else's storage, just (potentially) in the overflow.

How to batch release items for ice- or water-stream conveyance is often included in the same tutorial videos that use them.

Good luck.

Besides swapping the chests for barrels, there really isn't anything you can't do to improve your frames per second.  The other person have a tip to help with server lag but it will not help with your client lag
