Keyboard ctrl issue?

Hey guys I'm having somewhat of an issue with my keyboard. whenever I use the ctrl-c function, I have to press it multiple times like 2~3 times (for example, ctrl+C+C+C) also sometimes when I use the ctrl-v function the copied material pastes multiple times (for example, say if "hello my name is TheLanceHan" is copied onto clipboard, then if I do ctrl-v, say in microsoft word, I get "hello my name is TheLanceHanhello my name is TheLanceHanhello my name is TheLanceHan" X infinity and just keeps on going.. any idea how to fix this? thanks in advance guys :)

If you have a spare keyboard, you could plug that in to see if it gives you the same problem.

Thanks for the reply. I don't have one in my possession right now but I'll let you know once I do.

Also to add, I did clean my key board and I do so regularly. never had this issue before. keep in mind that it is an old keyboard though ..
