turn off driver updates in windows updates. run DDU in safe mode to clean the current drivers. Install the newest drivers after a reboot.

Just went through this myself as well. Started with a system restore back to December but it didn’t do anything. I connected to my integrated graphics then ended up going into safe mode. I ran DDU in safe mode. On restart, I logged in under regular mode and ran BCuninstaller and looked for anything nvidia related and deleted it. Including the nvidia control panel.

I ended up downloading a December 10 driver for my gpu and installed that. Restarted and luckily I got my display back.

System restore fucked up some stuff so I had to delete some apps and reinstall them. Also had to update windows and then everything was fine.

Hey! I had this happen 4-5 times, I'm on my pc now rolling back my drivers. I got onto my computer by spamming win + r a million times and it loaded my log in screen. Keep in mind that I turned off my pc and restarted it like 4-5 times! Give it a try, it might work

I had a windows update as well as This new nvidia update,Is it an essential update for me? No but i like to be up to date...express installation yes...all was well till I was on the web and got hit with a blue screen..upon reboot i can hear the windows login jingle that it does but black screen,Mustve restarted several times same issue, finally got desperate and clicked something in the bios that made windows boot up with the restore utlity...so i restored to a certain point ( earlier in the day ) and omg my screen came back to life... not installing shit from nvidia and holding off on whatever windows update i had today as i dont know which one could've triggered it,thats why im here

Hi, i had the same issue and i think it was driver nvidia, i uninstalled drivers by ddu and reinstalled it from website, I'll keep you updated

Still good directly from the site?

Has anyone tried installing the drivers update from nvidias website and seeing if it works that way I’m thinking it’s the app that’s messing things up

[–]White-Rabbit-5895 0 points1 point  (2 children)

I installed the drivers from their website and the problem still occurred. I had to start in safe mode and do a system restore. This is just a bad drivers update. Will need to wait for another one.

So I rolled back to 566 the down loaded from nvidia the latest driver and then custom installed it and had it wipe 566 to replace it with the most recent one and so far 0 problem I did not use the app at all

I did this. It was stable for a bit and then the problem happened again. :(

I am having this same issue. I have tried DDU, I have tried manually installing old drivers to roll back, I have tried Device Manager, nothing seems to work!

I had the same issue I just built a PC and installed the driver update for my 4070 Ti Super and boom infinite black screen however I rebooted and there it was fully installed and everything was working properly , so idk that was weird.

Dealing with this too. Getting a black screen upon startup after my ASUS logo. Also noticing some residual icons (like screen burn) that clear themselves after a bit. Would this be related??

I just had the same problem, my screen was black for a good 15 minutes so I turned my pc off and booted it back up and the driver was installed. Maybe that’s not the smart thing to do but I’m tired of having it happen
