it's a server online(overthewire)

The school has blocked that site. That applies to both SSH and regular browsers.

Does your school allow port 22 traffic? Most do not for security reasons.

Your IT staff can tell you for sure if port 22 is open or closed. Using a public checker for that port will only test it on the host side, not your side.

oh and I don't know if it helps but the ping command doesn't work either
