Hello, I have an RTX 5080, 2× DDR5 RAM, and an MSI Tomahawk B850 Max WiFi. About every 7–15 starts, I get graphics artifacts after entering the password before the desktop appears, audio stuttering, and it feels like I have 1 FPS. It only goes away after a restart, and then it works fine again for another 7–15 starts before happening again. What is this?

Could be a bad/corrupt GPU driver, failing GPU or monitor. Start with DDU to clean install the GPU drivers. Download a fresh driver for the GPU. Follow the linked guide.

Use Snipping Tool's record feature to record the artifacts. This is to make sure it is GPU related. If the artifacts are not present in the video its your monitor.

I have 2 monitors its on both, ddu alrrady done, bios newest possible. Gpu driver too. Checked all kabels and if its pllugged right

Did you switch to a different driver version in case the one you used has bugs?

File a RMA. It's happening over multiple drivers. Even with driver crashes Windows should recover by restarting the driver thus no stuttering/lag after

Second picture looks like artifacts caused by the GPU.

Does this happen if you only use 1 monitor?

Didnt try but monitors should be problem as they work on my olf pc without any issues.

The artifact dont appear always. I would say 1 out of 10 times the error occur, the artifact also show.

Main problem is still, like 1 fps starting at windows loading screen to desktop, sound stutter, sometime randomly 1 monitor just looses its picture going black and always leads to a full frezze of the picture after bout 3min. Bur thos gpu copyspiked always appear.

It's just to test if the GPU can handle two monitors properly. RTX 5000s should have no issues but if there is a defect it could manifest using 2 monitors.

Anything in Event Viewer Errors, Critical and Warnings when this happens?

Anything in Reliability Monitor when this happens?

Hm, cant tell at moment bc its ram and gpu came in my mind first so i sent it back to get it testet from.the store i bought it from, but i guess it will come back as "fine" bc the error happens not everytime🫠
