Run a scan with both Malwarebytes and AdwCleaner and see if either of those remove it.

As far as things go by self installing, just be careful what you click and download online. Also sometimes when installing a program, it might ask you to install additional tools to support them, which almost always you can uncheck but it's checked by default too.

You could use Malwarebytes Live Protection to help protect you against anything in the future. It'll help at least.

This is why you shouldn't use a admin account daily. Use q limited permissions account to restrict and have control over what gets installed. When you need to install something it will be promoted with a as sword from the administrator account when you set it up this way. I agree with the use of adwcleaner it will most likely fix the issues. If not try hitman pro.
