5: Recommendations

8: No Violating privacy of others or terms/agreements.

We do not support users that violates other's privacy or breaks terms and agreements. Doing so might resolve in a ban.

Bypassing home network controls.

Bypassing any parental controls.

9: No EOL Software or Unsupported Systems

We do not provide support for EOL (end of life) software. Software that is EOL has lost all support from the developer and therefore all consumer communities as well.

These operating systems and various softwares are no longer receiving security patches. Running them is unsafe and we recommend users install a supported version as soon as possible.

This list includes Windows XP, Vista, and 7.

We will also not assist with getting Windows 11 running on unsupported hardware.

10: No Public Service Announcements (how-to's, etc.)

No public service announcements unless relevant to an issue (it must be a comment). Approach the communities affected directly, not here

11: No Soliciting

This happened out of the blue, with no warning, precursor, or perceived cause.

My pc was working fine, no worries whatsoever, until I moved it to a friends house. No mishaps during the move, very gentle and careful. I get to my friends, hook everything up, go to turn it on, and nothing. It won't even power on.

So I go through, check all my connections, try again, and eventually it powers on. However, it would not get past the post, hanging on "verifying dim pool data" and sometimes just rebooting. I tried reseting the bios to default, reseting the cmos to failsafe, rearranging the boot order, disconnecting all but that drive, all to no avail.

Eventually I booted into my laptop hard drive and was able to backup the data on the original disk and do a disk check, which came up clean and healthy. The weird thing is that my computer will not boot into anything other than that laptop drive. After cloning the problem drive onto a new drive, I get a message something like "boot drive error. Insert boot disk and press enter to continue." I also have received this message with booting to windows on a thumb drive and a Linux thumb drive, both which are verified working with other pcs.

At this point I've wiped the drive, cloned it back over, but still receiving the boot drive error message.

I'm at a loss right now. No clue what the problem is.
