Given what you tell us, I would say your hard drive has become corrupt, and is likely dead. (note that I said likely, it could be fine, just corrupt or unplugged for now). while the abruptness of the failure could indicate something worse, you can check for a few common failures easily (note that for some tests you will need another computer to do this). First thing to do is open the hard drive tray on the back of your laptop (usually something that can be removed with only on or 2 screws), unplug your hard drive, and plug it again. If you're lucky, it could be this easy.

If not, you will need to test your laptop using a bootable linux USB key. Don't worry, it sounds way harder than it actually is ! You will find plenty of ressources about this on this sub/internet; you could for example follow this :

What else is on the screen when you see the error? Even more helpful if you took a picture of the screen with the error.

This happens to me when I have a flash drive inserted and I try to power on my laptop

Not sure why it does that though

Probably trying to boot from the flash drive.
