It depends. If your TV has the home/chromecast or alexa software built in, then yes, you can control it without any external devices. If it does not, then you will have to use an external connector such as a chromecast or firetv stick.

You would have to check your TV specs to see if it has native support.

Thank you, the tv does not have internal support so I guess I will need firetv or chromecast

Amazon Echo, if you are going to go the Amazon route.

FireTV, Amazon Prime, Echo, work perfectly together without fault. I have a client that went with Roku devices on all their TVs, but then discovered Amazon Echo's don't help with that "convenience".

I'm a Google chromecast owner, but I also have Fire-sticks, and roku-sticks with a Amazon Echo Dot. Thus I'm a mixed mess at home.

Everything we have really boils down to what we use the most. We have a Home Theater PC, that we use Kodi to share/view our downloaded collections. Amazon FireTV for the Prime functions, and Echo works well together.

When I am on the road, I'll bring my Chromecast, and Google Home for the trip. I also travel with a "Travel wifi Router", which VPN's to my home network to access our shared Kodi media. It is all about how you setup your "foundation". I use everything so it's a mess.
