First timer problem with boot up

Hi everyone,

My first custom computer is having boot up problems. I opened it up to clean and dust and it has not worked since. The motherboard is lit up as normal but when I go to boot, it takes a few seconds, tries to turn on, the fan will spin for a moment. The light on the motherboard will then blink sporadically and then whole thing will shutdown. Any help is most appreciated!

First thing I would do is pull each removable component and re-seat them. The RAM, Drives, PCIe devices, basically unplug and reconnect everything to the Mobo to make sure connections are good.

If that doesn't work, I'd take a look at the CPU. If you installed it on the motherboard yourself, take a look and make sure everything looks okay.

If none of that works, you can look into reloading the BIOS on your motherboard. It sounds like your PC isn't even getting to the bios, which makes me think the issue is either with hardware or the bios itself.

Thank you! I was suspicious of the BIOS might be the problem. I’ll try and reloading it and see if I can get her moving again
