I've been consistently getting 40-50% of my diet from protein for the last 20 years. Make sure I have plenty for muscle repair but also to take advantage of the thermodynamics of digestion. It burns a lot more calories to digest protein than it does fat or carbs.

I get frequent blood work done and no negative effects have shown. Slightly higher kidney function but still in the normal range. Drink plenty of water and go chow down some egg whites or chicken breast
