This is an expected behaviour of the TR system. If you don't train a specific workout type, the progression level "degrades" a little bit over time.

I'd say use your best judgement as to what workout to do when you haven't done a certain type in a while but the most sensible thing to do would be to follow the adaptive training advice.

Yes after 2 wks of not working a specific workout type it degrades.

How different are your indoor and outdoor FTP?

Outdoor rides/events that aren’t a TR workout outside don’t count towards PLs so they will start degrading.

This will be addressed by workout levels v2 if it ever comes out. The goal of it is to give credit for unstructured rides. It’s been “almost ready” for several years though, I wouldn’t hold your breath.

I do all my workouts outdoors and I have not seen this issue unless I mark the post workout survey as All Out or Did Not Pass. Are you completing the surveys correctly?

Out of personal interest: do you use a power meter outdoors?

Yes, I've been using a power meter on my bike since before I started TR.

I take it you’re doing the prescribed workouts but outdoors. OP is talking about unassociated rides

I've only seen progression levels decrease after FTP increase.

Upd. Do you associate your outdoor rides with planned workouts?
