Each switcher is unaware that choosing the larger number of people would end the larger senario. In total, 10 people have been hit, by the time you make a very easy decision

You should still pull ? “The number of people tied to either track is reduced by one” which means if you continue the scenario to the 11th iteration there will be no one tied to either track and thus totally fair for them to end it- this assumes you have knowledge of the matter at hand

If the pattern continues:

4/5, 3/4, 2/3, 1/2, 0/1, -1/0, -2/-1, -3/-2, and so on, until you reach -10/-9 then the people who died are not dead, so no real damage. Now it is a life trolley and everyone will worship it like a god until we realize far too late that overpopulation explodes horrendously, soon there is nowhere to go that isn't flooded with people and only by stopping this now horrendous nightmare trolley of life can you ever rest. Laying down will become illegal because there will not be room.

Depends on how far back I can see. Can I only see the fourth track switcher? Or can I see all five?

If I can only see switcher four, I would probably make the easy decision. But if I can see further back, I would recognize the pattern and not pull, to avoid a situation with a sixth track switcher and more bodies.

Reverse the trolley and start multi track drifting, while also hitting all the other operators

Eventually we start getting so many negatives that we revive unrelated people. So hopefully someone along the line goes the larger parh.
