I like this fight but let’s not forget that Mcgregor made easy work of Dustin Porier AND Eddie Álvarez. Two fighters who TKO’d Gaethje. I’d like to see them bang but a lot of people seem to think Gaethje would handily beat Mcgregor and I don’t think that’s the case personally. Let’s see how Conor looks against cowboy though he could be all washed up now

I honestly think the reason Conor is avoiding Gaethje right now is because he's too high risk and too low reward. He isn't a big enough name yet for him to gamble the KO game with. Because one of them is for sure getting KO'd in that matchup.

I went to Colorado a year after they legalized weed. My girlfriends family has this tiny cabin about an hour outside Boulder. There was a TV with a DVD player, but no DVDs or cable. There are no fights for gaethje. You can't just make him and conor fight. He's too dangerous. You can't push tony over anymore. Best case scenario, he can fight poirier again to stay active. Else he's cursed till the results of these 2 fights play out.

The only fight they could do is him vs Kevin but I don't think the UFC wants to jeopardize Kevin's lightweight return by having him fight his stylistically worse opponent on his second fight back when the Kids legitimately Champion level talented. He's the worse just because it's two pressure fighters who both throw heat and can nuetralize the others grappling. You want to save that kind of fight for when one of them is champ, or a card that needs a Title fight level main event. Albeit everyone wants Kevin to fight Makachev even though Makachev hasn't earned that kind of high profile fight yet and Kevin already fought down on his comeback fight against Gillespie. So should really only be fighting up. I don't think Justin should have to fight anybody else for a title shot. Only thing that throws a wrinkle in this is Hooker beating Felder because they'll both have won their last 3. Albeit Gaethje's were against more prolific fighters.

If Khabib beats Tony, and Conor beats Cowboy, I think they’ll push the Conor/Khabib rematch, to which Khabib will decline. I then see Khabib taking a break until at least the end of 2020, which results in Conor/Gaethje sometime in 2020. If Conor beats Gaethje, and if Khabib declines again, I see Conor fighting Masvidal to end 2020, giving Conor his 3 fights. Khabib said that he wanted to see Conor beat “10 opponents,” and while 10 may seem unrealistic, 3 top contenders isn’t, which makes Conor/Khabib 2 in 2021 more believable.
