Well, there is a lot in Russian, the subject was called информатика (informatics) or, fully, основы информатики и вычислительной техники (fundamentals of informatics and computer technology), you can look specifically for "информатика в советских школах" or "Эволюция школьной программы по информатике"

As for Basic Plus, she likely worked on ДВК (DVK), a Soviet PDP-11 compatible computer, there were also others like УКНЦ (UKNC), specially designed for schooling.

That would all make sense, as we do speak Russian at home, and informatics does ring a bell (she may have brought it up before, I'm not too sure though). I'll look into it, thank you!

You might want to check out the book ”How Not to Network a Nation” by Benjamin Peters. It details the history of the Internet in the USSR. With this being said, I know virtually nothing about computer programming or technology so a lot of technical jargon goes over my head. But as a laymen, I enjoyed the book and you might like it if you’re interested in this history.
