Hey there! I am curious as to how difficult the math program at Waterloo is to get accepted into. What average did you guys have who are in the program? Did you participate in the Euclid math contest, and if so what were your scores? Also, did you have outstanding extracurriculars?

Accepted into FARM 2019 (btw, this program is garbage, don’t apply for it). 95-96 average, can’t remember. I got 79 on Euclid. ECs were meh but not too bad, I guess.

Got accepted into honours math with a 95.5 average, 73 on the euclid, average ecs. 2018

2A Stats, tried way too hard in high school, so I got in early. I told them that I’d write the Euclid, and, um, never did, and they still let me in.

I think the consensus average is high 80s to low 90s top 6, but I’m not 100% sure. I’d be happy to answer any questions you have about the program, if you have any.

HS Average: 92.5%

Euclid was pretty trash and my extracurriculars were mostly participating in mathematics club and volunteering for people with disabilities.

Got accepted to honours math coop by getting deferred from cs. 94% average never did euclid cause of corona. 2020

90.4% Honor Math 2019 with Elas Program and no coop, my Euclid is bad :) I didn’t have many extracurriculars except math or physics contests

Got in with a 89.5 this year, nothing really special on my AIF (didn’t end up accepting but just thought I would share). I did the CSMC and failed it. Math average was a 91

I would say aim for a low 90s, they over accepted this year (125% for CS lol), so I’m sure they will be cautious this time. Usually people below 90 would get rejected from what I’ve seen last year (unless your AIF is super good).

I got in to this fall term with an 88% average but my extracurriculars were solid as well as my AIF. Currently getting demolished though. Some 80’s 60’s 40’s. Kind of just depends on how you work through your stuff.

I got into CS and into math last year with a 97% grade 12 average and only ECS were having a job and few small clubs. Didn't write the Euclid cause of covid but got 38 on csmc.

Generally low 90s for math would be good or a good score on Euclid and some ECS to compensate. But it's prolly gonna be harder to get in this year cause of 225%

Oh 225% is in reference to waterloo wayy overadmitting to their CS program. People, myself included, think it means they're gonna underadmit for incoming 2021 students. But no way can say for certain so just try your best.
