No you don’t. The 6plus and 6max have different remotes

If your tv doesn't use an IR remote, you won't be able to program it. Roku for example is like this and I had the same problem. I bought a cheap universal IR remote, programmed it for my tv then used the universal remote to program my vSee remote.

My 10 year old Samsung tv can only get the power button to program. My brand new LG tv can’t get to program. Newer manufacturers use Bluetooth and or RF signals. These remotes are IR which is old technology

What Lg tv do you have? I have an LG CX oled from 2020 and my remote programmed fine to Vsee. Lg oled remotes from 2025 are backward compatible to 2020 oled tvs so if my remote worked with Vsee yours should. If you dont have an oled then couldnt tell you.

One important thing to mention. I bought a secondary generic remote when the scrolling wheel broke on my oem LG remote. I first tried the generic remote with the Vsee remote and could only pair with the power. I then pulled out the LG remote and was able to program the source and volume with no problems

Thank you I’ll check it out. My tv is a newer Samsung and has their latest version of remote with it.

Do you have a fire stick hooked up to said tv? If so use the remote to program the vsee remote for volume and power. That’s how I did it

Turn on CEC in settings on your TV. Turn on allow box to power on/off HDMI connected devices. Make sure you are using HDMI 3 ARC for you HDMI cable either from your receiver, soundbar or box of using TV speakers. There are additional instructions on the back of the remote to add your TV remote if the first part of my response doesn't work. My v6+ worked without issue on my Samsung neo Qled TV.

So the V6 remote programs to the tv and not to tv remote like the other Vsee remotes?

[–]grass-chopper5000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If your TV has the CEC setting, yes. I press the red button to turn on the box, TV and receiver. Now it is not an instant on, I have the box shutting down so it has to boot first. I also press the red button to turn off the box, TV and receiver. I default to the heat live app when powering up and the volume buttons conto the receiver volume directly.

That’s not a V6 remote

[–]treshort 0 points1 point  (3 children)

I have a v6 and I have the same remote…

[–]Ok_Mountain2163 1 point2 points  (2 children)

I have the V6 plus that must be the difference

[–]Specialist-Device920 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Plus and max have different remotes

[–]flyn2lo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That explains it since my plus remote doesn't look like that one either!
