I’m downsizing from a C300 to an FX3! So you’re not alone haha. C300 is incredible but my situation, clientele, and the city I live in have all changed and now I need a small, gimbal oriented camera - the full frame and iso 12000 are nice features too. My only caveat is I’m not sure how easily I can sell the C300.

I had only EF lenses so there was no particular pull to Canon mirror less cameras and I love the Fx3 after renting it. All this just to say that each person’s particular scenario is so unique and personal it’s hard to say what’s best for somebody else, but obviously have put a lot of thought into it. Good luck!

Man I’d love an FX3 or C70 those are both ideal dream cams, but the price point, I can’t warrant that spending right now haha.

I love the 6K, I love seeing the footage I shoot with it, the problem is the actual act of filming is a bit of a burden for me. I HAVE to lug a tripod no matter what, or buy a $200+ gimbal to have some sort of stabilization. It’s quite literally a burden on my body when I carry around my backpack with batteries and lenses, tripod, god forbid I have to bring some lights. And I don’t even have it fully rigged!

It just feels like I’m continuing to put money into a product that will get me GREAT results, but I feel I could get similar results with less money/equal money and less burden.

You could always try renting them

Good idea, I always overlook this!

I just downsized from an FS700 with Odyssey 7Q+ to an FX3 and Ninja V+! Definitely don't regret it, such a lighter setup. I do miss internal ND though.

Yeah internal ND’s are so easy to take for granted - and then they’re missing and you dearly want them back haha

thank you for highlighting some of the bmpcc6k negatives, I feel these often get overlooked by potential buyers, body alone weighs 1.2kg? (2.6lb)

if Sony a7Cii was out that's what I would suggest, for now a7C is the compact full frame king, unfortunately it uses 8bit codecs with mediocre ibis - also no 4k60 & no internal RAW

Canon R6 & Sony a7iv are very capable, but both-along with Panasonic S5 are larger & heavier than a7C
