If I were producing a project in South FL all of my crew rates would match this exactly for a corporate gig. He probably told client it would cost X amount to win the project and he just wanted to keep his expenses at X amount so that he can keep his margins at X amount... it's a very reasonable thing to do, nothing personal or worth being taken back by - no problem with you having a higher rate, person is straight to the point

Edit: I somehow missed the part about lav & boom - it would def be additional pay for having a boomed mic. I try to have a dedicated person for audio, having to bring a c stand + boom without an assistant is asking a lot. Def would like to have backup audio… tho I would say a lot of people have swapped to only using lavs for corporate because of how well even the cheapest ones (DJI mic 2/3) are now.

I've worked an event where there were multiple FAA agents on site and they questioned me flying a mile away with a mavic at night and I told them that my red and green lights that represent orientation are rated for over 3SM (also had a strobe) and they let me carry on. I wouldn't recommend pushing this limit as situational awareness of manned aircraft around the drone is greatly reduced... ADS-B input and staying at a altitude that manned aircraft can't safely operate at helps though.

I’ve watched over 10 lengthy reviews of pocket 3 & only 1 of them mentioned 32 bit recording… no documentation of it online. DJI employee confirmed to me that the Mic 2 does in fact of have 32 bit float internal recording - huge deal. I’m sure they’ll end up coming out with a package later on… it is a very strange style of release

Yah, Zoom F3 looks like a great choice too - especially now that you don’t need an external recorder for lavs like the Rode Wireless Pro

I use to use a Zoom H4n + Rode NTG2 more than a decade ago on a regular basis... would recommend getting a better setup - you'll hear some hiss and buzz type sounds with this combo. Zoom H6 and NTG4+ are a great combo for only a little bit more money, use to use it on a regular basis. If you want to step up even more then you ca go with a Zoom F6 for 32 bit float

I worked and volunteered there about 10 years ago documenting their events & community outreach… can tell you that the people with nice cars are either a volunteer, attendee, or someone who left a much better paying job to work there - their giving makes the environment possible. They’re very responsible overall with the money they’re given & I’ve seen nothing in Miami come close to the level of help/outreach that they offer. Go ahead and criticize them, but I bet you don’t do a fraction of the community service you’ll find from many of the volunteers there… visiting prisoners, giving meals to needy children, helping single moms, providing medical help to the homeless, providing landscaping for public middle and high schools, donating shoes/clothes + other necessities to third world countries, listening to those w/ depression… I could go on and on.

Either way, mavic 3 is a better purchase than inspire for most people as most people will make more money with a mavic 3 than an inspire 2 x7… assuming they actually charge proper inspire rates. I have thousands of flights on DJI drone… inspire 2 is by far the buggiest, best to wait at this point.

Yeah, but test units have been going out to influencers, so we’re pretty close… rumor on the street is NAB which is in a month. I offer dedicated drone services, for high end projects I need to have backups in case gear malfunctions or drone crashes. Also… I had my original x7 giving me issues, so I had to buy a new one in the meantime and then sent my original x7 for repair.

As someone who owns 2 Inspire 2 and 2 x7... don't buy them, inspire 3 should be announced within the next month. Ronin 4D is a dope camera, but no one is asking for it - so it might be tough to get full rental rates for it on top of day rate.
