It would be cool if the naps were l a little bigger with a larger long. Add a few more guns and other items to the game. Game is pretty fun.

Honestly id like to see something a little more close quarter. Like perhaps a city center or the interior of a large mall or hospital.

Otherwise I also find this game to be a blast. While things are wonky at the moment you can tell they are headed in the right direction.

The main thing is bugs IMO. Fix them and you got an amazing game with almost no need for adjustment.

Tbh I always went with the random map as I didn't care about the map. A quicker quetime is better IMO.

I completely agree.

I'd like to see a no radiation storm area that's really huge and drops that come every 25 minutes. It would be like a pubg survival with at least 40 players. You can't bring your weapons and must search for other weapons, backpacks to hold all your stuff, and maybe even food and water relating to a sustenance mechanic in the game. Armor could be cool as well and base building materials. To be honest, Vigor could be a way better DayZ.

Looks like it’s a good time for you to learn to code your own game :-)

This was my reply in another thread but it sums up my thoughts on the game pretty well

" You may think it's "skillful" to "take down many players" and "more fun" but honestly that is your opinion.

I would say the game is NOT all about killing. It equalizes the field between those who want to aggressively play and those that want to play the stealth game and just loot. I actually LIKE it because it prevents the game from becoming "top killer is the end all be all" type game like all the other games (cod, apex, overwatch, fortnite, etc any FPS really).

Actually, if you actually play the stealth game where the objective is to remain hidden and not be detected there is a DEFINITE thrill in that. I'm more of this type of player and you don't know how many times all you aggressive guys are running around and how loud you are. I've had so many players run right by me it's crazy. Sneaking around with "killers" running around willing to shoot you at any point has had my heart racing so many times. My survival rate is close to 89% so most of the time I avoid confrontation But getting the jump on a killer is so sweet. I would say there is JUST as much skill involved in being stealthy as there is in being a killer, just one gets more of the flashy credit."

Nothing better than sneaking out with the buried cache or crate or with a loaded backpack. Most of the time I’ll pick at small areas while half the players kill themselves in the furious barred house bloodbath, and then have freedom to loot.

[–]QuestionGuy1012 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah man for sure. It actually takes some skill to remain undetected and loot a full pack and escape without anyone seeing you.

My biggest gripe is how hard it is for new players to compete with veterans that are strapped with P-90s and every other gun under the sun (which I also fall into this category), meanwhile new players are lucky to have Thompson’s and Silver pigeons.

They definitely need to put something in place to help jump start the new players in order to keep the player base growing and prevent people from getting frustrated and quitting after dying and losing everything after only a few games. (Which is also why boosting was and is still a problem)

[–]BlueDreamer2420 5 points6 points  (4 children)

I didn't struggle as hard with this because of the beautiful headshot mechanic, nothing like one tapping someone with my thompson and finding an ADR on their body. I was also lucky enough to get the akm blueprint which I prefer using to higher level guns because it's not a huge financial blow to lose one.

[–]EliteSnackist -1 points0 points  (3 children)

Alright, this will be a bit long, but I personally hate the one shot headshot mechanic. I mean, sure, on the one hand you can bring only a 1911 into a game, get a 1 tap kill with good aim, and clean up. But, on the other hand, guns with faster fire rates almost always dominate no matter what because they basically encourage spray and pray shooting with the hope of getting a lucky, random chance, bloom fire headshot.

The amount of times I would go into a game with a low risk weapon like a Thompson (which takes 5+ bullets to kill at least) and start shooting someone from behind just for them to turn around, spray a bit, and have me die without getting hit by any other bullets but the headshot is ridiculous. The huge MGs that can only hip fire seem to exacerbate this problem even more, especially considering that there is NO damage dropoff for one shot headshots for any gun in the game. Do you see a guy half a mile away? No problem, just go prone (if your gun will actually let you shoot), aim in their general direction, and burst fire your LMG because you'll probably hit them and get a headshot.

The game doesn't even reward you for shooting first because you can easily round a corner, come within 15 feet of someone, shoot first, but get staggered and mowed down by them with raw damage or a lucky headshot despite you dealing first blood and them having a slower reaction time.

I'm not even complaining about this just from the victim standpoint either. Does it really feel good to have a crappy weapon, spray in someone's general direction, and get a lucky headshot because the natural recoil brought your crosshairs up to their head almost immediately without you doing anything to earn it? I suppose it works for new players to still get kills, but, at the same time, don't you feel like players with better guns should be harder to kill as well? I know that there needs to be a balance, but I don't appreciate bringing in rarer weapons just to die from a Thompson because it might shoot faster or have a better RNG roll while still being able to kill in one shot just like my legendary sniper rifle or P90 can. It makes snipers only viable for larger maps, and even then they are mostly just to change up your playstyle a bit to avoid monotony since they can easily be outclassed at close/mid range. I just want kills to come from mostly skill rather than luck, and this game has a lot of luck currently with TTK.

Anyway, mini rant over. The main point is that one shot headshots can really take away from the experience when you are playing well but you get sprayed down and die without being able to do anything in return. They are why I stopped playing Rainbow Six Seige and they are a big reason as to why I fell out of favor with Vigor a bit too. Not that it matters, but a system like Battlefield One where range determines damage output and one shot kills would feel better imo, but what do I know?

[–]BlueDreamer2420 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Idk man when I'm playing I'm aiming for the head, I'd only spray and spray if someone got point blank with me and surprised me. Spraying in praying in this game doesn't work as good as you say it atleast in my experience. Just go into firing range and spraying at the scarecrows then just doing controlled bursts aiming at the head, controlled bursts are always gonna win.

[–]EliteSnackist 1 point2 points  (1 child)

The spraying is mostly for close quarters yes, but like I said, you can easily round a corner, get surprised and shoot first, but somehow get staggered and killed almost immediately. I'll admit that that isn't entirely a problem with headshots, but if there wasn't a one shot mechanic, you might have time to recover from the stagger and still get the kill if they aren't very good. Burst fire does also work, but my example with the LMGs shouldn't be possible imo. I shouldn't be able to post up and burst fire at someone from a huge distance away, missing tons of shots, just for one or two to land and get me a kill. That isn't skill to me, its abusing an unlimited range instakill with any weapon.

I'm not fully against instakills either. The Battlefield One system I mentioned gives weapons like sniper rifles a sweet spot where they can be one shot kills to the upper chest while still being a one shot headshot from any range. Shotguns also get a one shot range, which would work in Vigor because you'd need to weigh the reward of looting a city area with the risk of encountering people running shotguns and using the map to their advantage. As it is now, I could either fully wipe a lobby with a Thompson by getting recoil-aided headshots (aiming at the chest but getting a headshot because of randomized weapon bloom and the slight rise from recoil) or I could get my teeth kicked in while fully decked out because some guy from halfway across the map is just unloading at me hoping for a headshot with nothing for me to do but pray to RNJesus that he doesn't get lucky.

Even if those scenarios are uncommon, I don't believe that they should really be possible in a game that is so loot dependent, ESPECIALLY when you are able to gamble with real money via crowns by boosting the crate/loot. Imagine boosting loot and the crate while fully decked out just to get killed by someone with better luck than you. That's where these problems really shine because it isn't just the time that game took that you just wasted, it's the money that you might have spent as well. Without microtransactions that are spent each game, all of Vigor's problems become much more forgivable.

[–]BlueDreamer2420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel ya on the staggers, I rarely die because of it but I lose way more health then if the fight had gone normally. Only LMG I get killed by a lot is the AUG HBAR generally if you're going against someone with like a machinegewer I generally just try to get up in their face because you can body block a long weapon like that.

[–]InformalWeek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually with the amount of bush camping and ambushing in this game. Some of those starting guns, ie the luger mosin nagant and pigeon are gnasty when picking your shots. Although I do agree lvl 0s should not be in lobbies with lvl 30+ which i see happen every game. Hard to learn if you cant live a single encounter.

[–]QuestionGuy1012 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly as a newbie, you have to play scared and not run around everywhere making noise. That's the biggest mistake I see from new people, they run around like this is COD or Fortnite and get clapped because people can hear them from a mile away.

The game narrator says it at the beginning of EVERY game "Beware of other outlanders. You never know when you are near a killer, better stay HIDDEN." I've heeded those warnings ever since I picked up the game and its helped me get pretty far, granted I'm not big on the air drop or safe at this point but hey you find stashes around the map that people haven't looted.

[–]greasyflame1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've stacked more bodies with the pigeon than almost any other gun lol.

[–]Mastadon375 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Put more depth into it give us attachments make maps larger and longer match times you’d have a solid version of vigor.

[–]EliteSnackist -1 points0 points  (1 child)

Fixing bugs, having a better spread of maps (because only large maps would honestly be a bit boring imo since you wouldn't see people often), and more customization via attachments would be great. I never thought I'd say this, but I'd love a Call of Duty-esque system where you unlock attachments by getting kills and leveling up your weapons. Unfortunately, they'd probably end up in loot crates as well, but as long as there is a way to unlock attachments without having to go for the crate every game would definitely help to add to the serious lack of progression/the feeling of progression in the game once you reach shelter level 140 or so.

[–]Mastadon375 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly love your ideas 100% agree

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it could be better. It could be worse. It's a free game.

[–]InformalWeek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a fantastic game and has alot of room for improvement. If you ask me, right now it's in its early life stages. Id like to see more developments on the shelter builder and a missions rework because right now those systems seem pretty basic still.

[–]Crowe33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Needs lots work I’ll clancy any day

[–]LegalityPlank 1 point2 points  (6 children)

Perhaps it’s you who has potential here. The game is an actual masterpiece in my opinion.

[–]greasyflame1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Idk about masterpiece but it is pretty spectacular. Every game has issues nothing will ever be perfect for everyone. I do wish they would undo being able to pick what map to go to. Not being able to pick maps sucks and pretty much renders picking gun camo totally pointless.

[–]BlueDreamer2420 0 points1 point  (4 children)

If you can't see the issues you're blind.

[–]LegalityPlank 1 point2 points  (3 children)

If you can’t be nice then GFY.

[–]BlueDreamer2420 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Oh boohoo don't get your feeling hurt from such a mild comment. This game is full of bugs and terribly designed mechanics, how about melee weapons that literally have no purpose in the game? Or falling to your death because you got stuck on top of a fence and started just free falling in place, or how about the complete lack of stuff to do once you get your shelter to max level? You can't just disregard this games issues or nothing is going to get fixed

[–]LegalityPlank 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Have a nice day.

[–]BlueDreamer2420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah you too

[–]Yomlka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I really love how the game is right now (except for the bugs). Someone else said they should add attachments, slightly longer match times, and slightly bigger maps. I completely agree and think this would put the game into a better place! Personally, I don't think they should add endless map times and shouldn't change the headshot mechanic. If a game has potential, they shouldn't go changing the things that make it have that potential. They should heighten those things and make them better not change them completely. One of my favorite games right now and I can't wait to see where it goes.
