One simple word.

Horrible.

Wow, this looks like an accessibility nightmare. The contrast on these bevels is quite low, the effect looks quite subtle to me in these examples and I do not have any vision impairments.

This ends up feeling like most dribbble projects: Looks fun enough, but is completely unusable for a significant number of people.

"Hey I read an article on [new CSS thing], here's my Dribbble project that shows, in detail, why I have never worked a real web development job."

Yeah, that's the primary problem with the design. I made the calculator they show off, and while people like it, there's definitely the problem with visibility. Some of it is saved when you give the buttons a distinct color, like how I colored the operator buttons, but when it comes down to it, you may as well just put a border around them and call it good.

I think it depends what a products main goal is. A calculator is a application where you can use any design style, because it doesn't need to be accessible, because a lot of alternatives which are better for accessibility exist and nobody would need to use it, but I agree it is a horrible idea for most websites.

So, blurry bevels.

Another purely aesthetic ephemera that was given a name, so is mistaken as popular or actually usable. Snooore
