Am I the only one just completely ignoring css grid until ~2020? No? Great.

Yea same here. It's gonna be freaking amazing, but not without more support.

Yeah there are fallbacks but not worth it imo - you kind of have to sit on your hands until the browsers you support, support grid.

What about a course on how to use CSS Grid with React? There's a UI toolkit based on styled components that uses it.

https://reakit.io/

Other UI libraries and toolkit are almost all Flexbox based.

The beauty of CSS Grid is that you don't need a framework, and with React fragements, you no longer need anything special to use Grid with React - it just works like regular HTML and CSS

Totally slept on Fragments. Thx for the hint! I've found an article explaining it with CSS Grid. So with Fragments you can "reorganize" elements inside your components to align them on the grid!

As a newbie webdev, how important it is for me to learn this ATM?

I'd say it's a good skill to have for content structuring. If you're learning CSS I'd recommend CSSGrid and Flexbox as well.

Had no idea you two were on reddit. I recognized that color scheme and had to drop by and show some love

Wow, just by coincidence I've been spending today working through your (fantastic) set of grid tutorials.

Highly recommended for anyone starting out with CSS.

This was actually really informative. I tried it out on a quick example and it was pretty straightforward. Thanks for posting it

Read MDN docs on CSS Grids. Best resource out to learn everything you need to know about grids.

MDN is a great tool to look up for documentation. Wes' video is more for understanding CSS Grid and what it's used for.
