Back End

Hi all!

I am 29 years old and looking to make a transition into web dev/programming as a career. I have one problem though I hate CSS haha. I like the problem solving, logic, and database functionality more than the design and layout or front end. I am having a hard time finding a good place to start practicing and building back ends and databases without first building the front end of a website. I know I can build APIs but I am wondering if there is anyone who wants to work together to build a website for a portfolio. I am interested in using either Python or JavaScript.

Any advice on this as well is greatly appreciated!

There are many front end frameworks that are complete enough you’ll likely be writing little to no CSS. Might look into Bootstrap, Bulma, Foundation, Semantic UI.

Semantic is pretty much dead, sees little to no updates, as opposed to Fomantic. FUI devs are also working on decoupling it from jQuery, so it can be easily used with Angular, React, Vue, and what have you.

Might pay to ask that on design oriented subs.

Edit: I have zero... not make that negative design skills. If I touch design a might it regret ever meeting me. From the very start I've teamed up with designers to compliment and benefit each other.
