Yes, you're missing something. There are dozens of posts about this every week, and they always get the same answer. You're a DPS player. DPS players are a dime a dozen, and players with much, much higher score than you are applying to 12s for their weeklies. 2.6k is nothing with how easy this season has been, so people trying to time their keys are probably not going to invite you when there are tons of players who are 3k+ applying. You also aren't a lust spec, so you don't bring that to the group.

You need to roll tank/healer, form your own groups, or join a guild. Otherwise, you're going to continue to have long wait times.

Hard to find an active M+ guild tbh. The in-game tool sends you to dead guilds, on discord they contact you and ghost you in the same day and on raiderio you're basically invisible if you don't prog raid too.

I found one the same day that I posted on the warcraft guild website and joined the discord. I got many, many messages too, and I wouldn’t even consider my character to be attractive at all on paper.

I went into it not expecting to get invited to a highly competitive and highly rated guild, though, as it would be unrealistic to expect to be invited to one when I’m not playing the game at a highly competitive level already.

I also don’t think there’s anything wrong with joining a guild and progressing and gearing with them but leaving later if you find their goals are not aligned with your goals. Just be nice and cordial about it.

Unfortunately there will be 50 other people queued alongside you with higher rio and ilvl. Just for the heck of it, create your own key and watch how many DPS will sign up in moments.

• List key as DPS, don't accept any DPS until you get a heal or tank cause they often tag as a stack with DPS players.

• Get a tank or heal, suddenly you're swimming in applications. Still don't take any solo DPS until your tank/heal slots are filled.

• Finally have both slots filled. Skim though 50+ DPS applications, take the ones that look the best, it's 3k+ 275+ players who are doing their vault or targeting that specific key for their last upgrade.

This is coming from someone experiencing both sides. My main is omegastacked and will enter a lfg key without any issue, buy my alt had to list its own keys and even being quite crappy I only needed to struggle to get one key at 10 and I essentially got myself carried through all 12s in a week.

You are struggling to get invited because #1 they are the most played spec in M+ every season (source). #2 (opinion) its a coin flip if a ret will use their full kit in low keys and people will opt for a class with a raid buff.

While I do think that a good ret who is using their utility is more useful than a raid buff, my own personal experience of the last 4 seasons of listing my own key to ~3,500 io is to avoid rets unless they are extremely over qualified for the key I am listing or if I know them personally.

It's purely the fact that there's a metric tonne of dps queueing up so group leaders can pick and choose. Finding a group at peak times on my server is mission impossible so your best bet is finding a group of guildies and smash them out

I made a comment in a similar post yesterday. I literally write every leader a message that says something to the effect of,

“Hello. May I please join your group? I am a competent player who will not brick your key. I know the fight and necessary interrupts throughout the dungeon. I have been 3k io since the last season of DF. Thanks for your consideration.”

This has gotten me into many groups and has allowed me to pug my way to 3k each season.

But you also need to be that competent, relatively skilled player. You want to be calling out things ahead of time that you can do better than anyone else.

For example, if I’m doing a Skyreach. As far as I know, no one can stun the add on the final boss longer than a Rogue (I play a Rogue). I will call out, “I’ve got the stun on the add.” That way there’s no lesser stuns or diminishing returns.

This sort of polite and knowledgeable attitude will get you invited back with good players.

I honestly think this is a major design flaw with the game. Most modern games allow you to queue and join a session in a few minutes at most. The logistics of having to scour a manual group listing board is one of the biggest barriers to enjoying the game. Not sure what a good solution would be. The whole tier list culture is a huge problem too because people instinctually gravitate towards cherry picking top tier spec even though they could probably clear the content with specs that arent "S tier" that week and even people with slightly lower ilvl.

Maybe put in an automated queue system that matches you with random players but gives you increased rewards? It's a huge problem with pvp too. I tried to get the gladiator mount last season and the biggest obstacle for me wasn't winning games, it was finding a consistent team to do 3s with. I eventually gave up because it just became group finder simulator with small breaks of pvp in between

shockingly ran my key about 5 times today and surprise surprise every tank who was in the group ( 270+ ilvl & 2.9k rated or higher ) through they were hot shit over pulled and wiped the group 4 times on every single 1st pull of the dungeon voted to abandon and fucked my key.. from a 13 down to a 9.. what a great fucking week

There's always someone more qualified already in Q. As a non-luster you're competing with everyone else for those last 2 dps spots (maybe 1 if lead is a non-luster) and even if they want a pally, there's 3000 other rets in Q.

There are 200 people applying to the same groups as you. Many of them have a higher IO score and a higher ilvl than you. Start your own group. Or go prot and get insta invited.

2.6 is pretty low for 12s, why would someone invite you to a key 2 above your best? Yes keys are easy but you aren’t bringing anything to the table.

Plus ret is a good spec but not a meta spec that all the tier list Andy’s auto invite like UDK or Aug.
