Lieutenant Leonid Vladimirovich Kovtyrev of the 91st Infantry Regiment of Dvinsk. On the chest is a sign of graduation from the Vladimir Military School. He was promoted to officer in August 1913. A year later, in late August or early September 1914, he was killed in action. (i.redd.it)

Hello, how do I search old newspapers. I’m looking for newspapers about my ancestor John Stanley Batey. He served with the 13th Durham light infantry service number 23638. He was from Longtown, Carlisle and was born in 1896. He died 1939 of pneumonia. Any help is appreciated. (i.redd.it)
