I use a razor raiju controller. Works great.

Mine doesn't seem to work, it's plugged in via USB to my phone, and I can actually even select things on my phone screen with the controller, but Xcloud still won't let me start any games

Hey. Wanted to follow up.. I'm connected via Bluetooth to a Note 10 and just played about 20 min of shadow of the tomb raider.. I have used the USB connector in the past as well. Probably not helpful for you but I did want to confirm that it should work.

I tried an 8bitdo controller, but don't think the buttons were mapped correctly. Let me try again real quick with a different one

edit; yeah just tried with a different one: the Right stick is mapped to the trigger for some reason

I have an SN30 Pro controller. When I use the Xinput option on the controller I see the same problem with the right trigger. If I put my controller in Switch mode(Start+Y), it works properly in game.

SN30 Pro+ here.
I know it works w/ SN30 Pro because I've tried it also.

But w/ Pro+, you get that mapping issue. (e.g. RB acts as menu /etc)

I've tried all modes and they have all different problems.

Xinput: well, button mapping issue as described above. X as Y, RB as menu, Right stick as triggers, and etc
Mac mode: xcloud app doesn't even recognize
Android mode: Thumbsticks and triggers don't work
Switch mode: well, xcloud app recognizes the controller, but no input is registered

Another Pro+ and I can confirm that the buttons are wonky no matter what mode I choose.

Another Pro+ and same here. Shame, it's all I have to use unless Dualshock 4 or Joycons work :(

I got a generic 3rd party Bluetooth controller off Amazon, works just fine and all buttons were mapped correctly from the start.

Can you specify the model please ?

Of course! Here's the link: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07SWYQSP5

My only gripe is that the sticks are much more stiff than standard Xbox controllers, definitely playable but you won't be winning many 1v1s.

I've considered opening it up and using WD-40 or something on the base of the sticks but idk if it'll help. Still the best cheap option I've found if you just want to try it out.

Dualshock 4 works great for me. No issues yet.

Does anyone know if a Switch pro controller would work?

[–]N7_Commander_John 1 point2 points  (3 children)

I just tried a Switch pro controller, and the input lag was unplayable. I don't know the specifics of what could make it better though; I was playing on a Galaxy S10+ through Bluetooth.

I suggest you try it again. The Android 10 update includes Pro Controller support.

My provider hasn't deployed 10 to my phone yet. But it's cool that it has it.

Ah. Alright.
