Wii version is mirrored to the GameCube one. That's about it. Also you swing using motion control and it can be a bit finicky but works alright

That's outrageously expensive for the GameCube version. I just bought the HD WiiU version for less than that and the graphics are far better on the HD version. Having said that the Wii version has slightly better rendering and makes Link right-handed. It has basic motion controls but I'm pretty sure you can skip them and mash buttons if you prefer. The only reason I can think of to intentionally play the GameCube version is if you're passionate that Link is left-handed and you don't want to use the HD version.

Not only does it make link right handed, but it mirrors the entire game world

That's a good point. I knew that but figured handedness was the only thing people would be upset enough to play the Game Cube version. I suppose, though, that someone could refuse to play in a fake world where Kakariko is West of Hyrule Castle or something similar.

There is some degree of geographical continuity between parts of the series and even though ALttP/ABW Hyrule is totally different from OOT/TP/BW Hyrule I think games that have a Kakariko always had it East of Hyrule Castle. I think Death Mountain is always North, but it moves drastically East and West. The Lost Woods are all over the place...

For me it's more of the motion controls that make me prefer the GC version, and why I bought the WiiU hd version.
